The most prestigious skateboarding contest in the world has a new champion since yesterday, November 6th.
After winning the previous SLS date in Las Vegas, our young JART rider Gustavo Ribeiro became the SLS Super Crown world champion thanks to his technical bag of tricks and smart decision-making during the competition.
In fact, we had the best final of all times. Saving the best for last, the 2017 Tampa AM Champion got himself in the skateboard history book in Rio de Janeiro becoming the first European to win the SLS Super Crown.
After being in the lead for most of the competition Gustavo secured the win with a trademark nosegrind nollie flip out, taking the gold from the rookie Braden Hoban, who got the night’s highest score. Anyways, Ribeiro’s consistency prevailed, and we can proudly say that he got the well-deserved 2022 SLS Super Crown champion trophy.
However, Ribeiro was not the only JART rider to do a great job yesterday. Gabriella Mazetto, playing at home, got herself a spot in the Women’s Final after showing her Brazilian crowd her clean skateboarding.
PLAN B riders Felipe Gustavo and Chris Joslin also participated in the Super Crown final, showing us all what we already knew: they’re among the best skaters in the world. Chris Joslin got himself the 3rd place in the competition, after advancing to the final round with a few 9-club tricks and making the crowd roar in his first line.
Get your hands on our winner’s boards before it’s too late.
